March

I’ve marched in the past

To a different tune

That of patriotism and pride

A member of the military

Sent out to fight or die

Martial music in all its pomp

Stirring the blood to rise

I followed orders as I should

For victory we did strive

But now the tune has altered

As I step to march again

This time I march for freedom

For the poor and those in pain

They used to call me hero

When I marched in uniform

But now they call me activist

And pour on me their scorn

But I’ll continue marching

Just as I’ve done before

I will march for freedom

Because it is a just cause
