Elephants

We all love the elephants

Who in spite of their size

Have a dignity and elegance

That they simply cannot hide

A shake of the mighty head

Ears protruding out so wide

A swish of the mighty trunk

Loyalty to family

And heads held high with pride

Love for them is timeless

Through the annals of time

Now they need protection

Against the ravages of man

If we fail they will not last

Become a thing of the past

We all love the elephants

We’ll miss them when they’ve gone
