Helen M Nightingale – 2

This is the second of the three poems by the fantastic and  mysterious Helen M Nightingale.

Sleep well, O Valiant Hearts,

Since, from the rest to-night,

The shadow grim departs

Of still unfinished fight.

Sleep well, Victorious Deed’

Who suffered not in vain,

On land or ocean bes

Are crowned your woe and pain.

To all who died, or live

Who kept our England free

Our grateful thanks we give

For Peace with Victory
