Class

When we were young

We travelled by train

First class for the nobs

Second for the middle

Third was for the proles

The choice of where you sat

Depended on your wealth

It took no account of wisdom

Intelligence or health

It took no account of morals

Of being a decent human being

Your ability to pay

Decided what was your class

But there was another class

When I was first conceived

It was where you were told you fit

There’s some in the world today

Who think they should be on top

Born into entitlement

They believe their upper class

It is of course a delusion

That keeps them where they are

The rest of us are down below

In the class system of today

But we are all born equal

Class system has no place to play

The question for us all is this

Will we allow them to take it all away
