Common Fate

Our brain is really clever

So isn’t it a crime

To fill it full of negative thoughts

All of the bloody time

There’s those who see the bleakness

In everything they do

Thinking of the worst

Simply makes them feel quite blue

Even the slightest error

Causes them to scowl and frown

Their minds become real cloudy

Every mistake just pulls them down

But then there are the others

Who see hope in everything

Who are permanently optimistic

Who are happy all of the time

They see life is for living

To be joyful and have fun

They have no room for negative

Whom amongst them I am one

But negative or positive

People all have a common trait

They’re born, they live, they die

It is our common fate
