Not Offended

I’m not in the least offended

If with me you disagree

With what I decide to write

To your opinion you’re entitled

Of course you have the right

It is the price we pay

For wanting to be free

To think and write what we believe

But does that freedom extend

To talking and an insulting tone

Wouldn’t you be better off

Sitting calmly in your home

Or are your impulses so great

That them you can’t control

So fire off an insult immediately

One you’ll forever own

But no I’m not offended

If with me you disagree

I’m happy to take your insults

Your impulsive vicious tone

Because while you’re insulting me

You’re leaving others

Who are more vulnerable

Truly well alone
