From this…

This is my country
Of which I once was proud
Famous for its tolerance
But shamefully not now
It welcomed all the people
Who helped to make it great
They worked and strived
And many died in pursuit
Of freedom and of peace
They are our people
Who we now need to protect
From ideologues and haters
From within and from without
This still remains my country
Of which I’m no longer proud
I’m lost within its borders
I’m lost in my own home
The country where it’s freedom
Is very loudly proclaimed
Has now become a country
In which I feel an enormous sense
Of shame

To this

In a single generation.
