The views, thoughts and opinions of an insignificant speck in the Universe 😀

Orley Common

I walk on to Orley Common

A place of peace on high

I wonder at the beauty

Of the common

Under the Devon sky

And as I walk I look around

At natures beauty so profound

As leaves turn from green to gold

As ancient as the wood is old

As leaves turn from gold to brown

They gently fall and lie around

Silent and still upon the ground

On Orley Common near Denbury Mound

It’s Autumn now Summer ends

The warmth of the sun just a glow

A memory soon of the past

As the season changes at first quite slow

Moving towards winter oh so fast

And now a crisp clean cooling breeze

Here on Orley Common

In the ancient woodland trees

There is no better place to be
