The views, thoughts and opinions of an insignificant speck in the Universe 😀

Outside

I tried to explain

To the young people of today

That we lived in a magic world

When I was their age

A place where we could go

Play, explore and grow

Where children went to hide

A place of special wonder

Away from prying adult eyes

In a world we called –

OUTSIDE

We played in woods

We swam in cuts

We built elaborate dens

And we did this all

With other kids

Kids who we called –

FRIENDS

We laughed and ran

Outside all day

We were really free

No mobile phones

No texts to read

We played at tag

We climbed up trees

But always remembered

What mum did say

Make sure you’re home

For tea.
