Sympathy – I Do Not Have

I have sympathy for the nurses

Who work to save our lives

I have sympathy for the police

Who work to protect our lives

I have sympathy for the emergency teams

Who into danger ride

I have sympathy for the pensioners

Who cannot afford to eat

I have sympathy for the sick

Who ailments don’t get treated

I have sympathy for the student

Whose lives debt will decide

I have sympathy for the poor

Who on food banks rely

I have sympathy for the homeless

Who have nowhere to live

I have sympathy for the teachers

Constantly being derided

I have sympathy for our forces

Who die for politicians failures

I have sympathy for the thousands

Who daily face the rascist

I have sympathy for the millions

Who toil on zero hour contracts

I DO NOT have sympathy

For a millionaire who has a cough

I DO NOT have sympathy for the person –

Responsible for the plight

Of those I have sympathy for
