Saboteurs Unite – Change the Government
Theresa May having the gall to accuse the remaining 27 countries of the European Union of increasing tensions in order to gang up and sabotage the Brexit negotiations is a sign of someone who wants to have but has totally lost control.
Of course she has a right to think that “some in Brussels don’t want Britain to prosper”
Well, as the saying goes “No s*** Sherlock”
To start with Theresa May is being dishonest because what the EU27 have in fact made it clear from the outset that they have been consistent in stating that Britain would not be better off outside of the single market.
But why should Mrs May let the truth ruin a good sound bite?
And why was she apparently surprised by what their negotiating position is when in fact in April of last year she said in a speech that – and I quote….
“The reality is that we do not know on what terms we would win access to the single market. We do know that in a negotiation we would need to make concessions in order to access it, and those concessions would well be about accepting EU regulations, over which we would have no say, making financial contributions, just as we do now, accepting free movement rules, just as we do now, or quite possibly all three combined. It is not clear why other EU member states would give Britain a better deal than they themselves enjoy.”
The word disingenuous is used when talking about politicians to cover up what is really being said and in this case it is more than being disingenuous it is downright dishonest.
For Theresa May as the reality of what she herself said in her speech becomes apparent to complain and accuse the EU27 of sabotaging the UK negotiating position is pathetic and smacks of desperation from someone who has suddenly realised she is out of depth.
Worse still to say they are trying to sabotage her – notice the use of the word ‘her’ and not the Conservatives- General Election campaign just reinforces the weakness of the U.K.s negotiating position.
It also reveals that her campaign claim that she is the only political leader who is able to fight for Britain is nothing more than dishonest electioneering and certainly as far as the EU negotiators are concerned must be treated as what it is – laughable.
It may well turn out that Theresa May will continue as the Prime Minister as a result of her claims of sabotage against the EU27 but it may also turn out that her temporary solution to win the election will become a permanent mistake in the negotiations.
As for those she considers saboteurs both at home and overseas all I can say is – Unite and Sabotage this cruel and callous Government that Theresa May is so proud of leading.
